Enough of good design was published. It’s time to take a few things. Let’s speak about great design today-one that crosses the boundaries of decent and inspires designers to create outstanding experiences that redefine app design. How do I create an outstanding design? A layout fits into the needs of the user and provides the users with intuitive guidance for navigating the application in an orderly manner.
Design that answers the questions of users before asking them and shows them the way forward before searching is necessary. Design that causes users to feel the right emotion in some way. Briefly, the design will delight and enjoy your users.
Such a design transcends visual attraction and esthetics. The work is done with excellent design. In this post, I will share the secrets to make your app design truly intuitive and functional, as well as beautiful.
- Understand consumers and their path through feeling
We look ready to digitize our powerful smartphones. Online shopping, mobile banking, all comes to us, of course. Or we’re thinking that way.
The reality is that the digitization honeymoon period has gone. Your customers now need to be humanized. We expect services that are seamless and on-demand. It was easy to show consumers that it is better to pay bills on their phones than to queue up the service office. Consumers are no longer happy to visit a mysterious web portal to pay a bill today.
Consumers in Millennial and Gen Z grew up with iPhones and don’t really know how complicated it was to pay bills in the pre-Internet era. They’re only awaiting the system to change. They expect mobile transactions to be as easy as handing out a dollar bill and taking grocery stores.
Great design is the one that can not be seen by the customers. Do not plan to reveal the problems that you have solved in order to make the device viable. Design the app to make it look like a piece of cake. Project for the layman easiest. Let all the complicated functions happen in the background, while in as few clicks as possible the user should be able to get his work done.
- Minimize the job of the customer, using wise defaults
The idea is to give a sense of accomplishment to the consumers. If I order a pizza, they should have saved time u, it’s obvious because I need some quick, effortless food. But sometimes the food ordering app makes me scroll through 4 assorted lists, choose to top each individually, touch a dozen different buttons, and sometimes it loses all my information due to one mistake, and I have to repeat the whole process.
Now if it takes about 15 minutes to put my order and the 30, waiting for the delivery to come, I can’t help but feel like I might have made a mac and cheese for myself.
The device design needs to be intuitive, anticipate user needs, deliver smart defaults. Imagine how much simpler it would have been to order my pizza if all the usual toppings were already picked and I could easily unselect the one or two that I didn’t want.
Develop software for your customers to do most of the job. Whether it’s clicking, picking, determining, or any other type of function, raising the user’s effort.
- Stay creative with your graphics and animations
You want to use the device frequently. You want your device to be used by consumers many times a day, every day. When creating simulations, micro-interactions and visual effects, keep that in mind. You might find a really lively, interesting and complex animation that looks really amazing. But will it look amazing after a hundred times the customer saw it? Over – the-top, complicated and multi-faceted animations could become distressing when it comes to repetitive use. Choosing simplicity and minimalism is safer. Animation can become a cognitive load if overdone, so know where to stop.
- Don’t ask what you just don’t need
Consumers don’t like being too much challenged. Don’t inquire if it isn’t absolutely necessary. Enough has been published about why the authentication wall can automatically be disabled for users. By now, you realize that requiring consumers to share their email addresses and other personal information can be dangerous to a device. Apps need to get enough users to sign up, of course, but it’s better to let them use the app for a while and make them like it, so they’ll be happy to sign up.
Likewise, not all apps need to learn a user’s gender, age, or address. Not until a particular requirement presents itself at least. Refrain from asking too many questions and request just crucial details. Doing so will help build the users ‘ confidence, making converting them into loyal users far simpler.
5. Talk to your users
That’s correct, you need to communicate with your consumers, show them the way and use positive feedback to encourage users to complete their purchases.
Use imaginative copy and leading the way for your users will help you personalize the customer experience and build empathy.
Especially as yours is a computer app, unlike a game app, you realize the customer is here to do something. Whether you order food, stream songs, purchase items or anything else, the majority of applications are job. We have a usage process prior to an action being taken by the customer. Use phrases like’ thanks for coming on board, let’s show you the way’ or’ only one more move to get you onboard’ will help make the user happy and nudge them softly to your cta. So be extra careful with your file, make it conversational and create a relationship with your users to hold them returning.
Bottom Line-
The technology was deemed a fully minimalist, artistic aspect for a long time. Yet now, as applications are part of everyday life, architecture is the driving force behind how the customers relate to your device and therefore your company. That’s why humanizing the device user experience through adaptive, predictive and empathic architecture has become increasingly important.
The ideas above are not the point of departure for a good concept. I’m sure you know those already. These are the next stage device hacks that help you take your product design from decent to better, and the users love your app as much as they can make it a part of their lives.
